Her full name is "Miss Kitty Ping." She (and her sister, Alaranth) were named after characters in the Dragonriders of Pern series of books. Ping, because of her very prim and proper demeanor which was much like the character of that name.

Ping and Alaranth were born in April of 1994. Their father was a Himalayan (Possibly mixed with Siamese)  and their mother was a Calico Tabby. Ping does have Calico markings but they are hidden in her under-fur. If you don't look close she appears to be a mottled gray tabby but upon close examination you can see orange and white patches typical of a Calico. The most prominent of these are an orange patch on the bridge of her nose going to (her) right and her right front paw which has a white sock. Her eyes are a pale green. Ping's Voice is very deep and graveled, and her meows tend to be clipped-off. "ME!"

She likes me to rub the top of her head in small circles and loves to have her face brushed. Her favorite nap spots are in the living room among the storage boxes, and directly under my office chair. She normally sleeps ON me. (I usually sleep on my side and she likes to get up on top.) She prefers dry food but will eat a little of the canned each night. She does NOT like cat treats at all. Ping's favorite toy is a large green stuffed rat, although she also likes to roll and chase the fuzzy balls.

Ping does not like Tippy, and will take a swing at him if he comes too close. Although she seems to know I would be mad at HER if she actually scratched him. (She once punched him in the nose. She balled up her paw, pulled back and jabbed. I was laughing at the look of surprise on Tippy's face for several weeks.)
